I don't blame anyone for not posting this (it was in the PlayStation state of play thing) but it's a pretty confusing sight.
The environments look fine enough but the combat looks like Resident Evil 4 and completely misses the tone of the original. The sound design is iffy and the particle effects look like Half-Life 2 (post engine update)

i remember when i first played silent hill 2 it took a long time because i didn't know you had to stomp on enemies to kill them, i just kept beating them with the stick.

Wow... The fact that halfway through, they weirdly switch to some "le epic" music with a montage of shooting manequins really tells you everything, they don't fricking get it.
Yeah, I'll wait on reviews, but it's looking like a hard skip. I've never played the original anyway so I'm sure I'll have fun with that on emulator
If anyone has recommendations for graphics settings for SH2 on emulator I am all ears, I have only ever played GBA/DS emulators so trying Wind Waker with crazy upscaling the other week was a revelation, holy shit it looked good. If there's anything I can do like that for PS2 emulation, that would be sick

Silent Hill 2 relies on a bunch of prerendered puzzle images and cutscenes so they probably won't upscale too well.
I used PCSX2 to emulate so the instructions for that are here (https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-How-do-I-change-the-resolution) but tbh I never bother upscaling. The PS2's resolution isn't that small and it doesn't have shaders so idk if it's worth the potential glitches and performance hits
