Why yes I WILL repeat the exact same story beats of the previous game on the same map as the previous game with the exact same lack of items as the previous game
I will bet you 10,000 coins that the Nintendo Switches successor will be announced this year and release before or on Christmas 2024. !pinknames bear witness.
Yeah but no way of knowing if it would play Switch 1 games. Buying a console on release is usually a bad idea, especially if the last generation has a great library
Playing those two back to back sounds exhausting. They're two huge open world games set on the same map, and they're mechanically very similar. I'd say start with Breath of the Wild, but then give it some time to fade before playing the sequel. If you want more Zelda on the Switch, I suggest Skyward Sword HD instead.

Breath of the Wild is the basic system seller. If you have a lot of free time, Fire Emblem Three Houses. If you're a coomer with a lot of free time, Xenoblade 2. If you have people over a lot, Smash Ultimate and/or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Mario Wonder was a cool new 2D Mario, if a bit on the easy side. Absolutely try Country Tropical Freeze if you have any interest in 2D platformers. It's absolutely stellar.
Should have bought a Steam Deck, anyways the best games on the switch are TOTK, Golf Story, Mario+Rabbids, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem 3 houses, Smash Ultimate, Metroid Dread, Kirby, Bayonetta 1-3, Pikmin 1-4, Metroid Prime HD, Bowser's Fury, and Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.
Also most moden Indie games are available on the switch, just pick any popular one, all Bethesda ports are pretty good too, Games like Dark Souls, Sonic Mania, and NieR Automata have great ports too.
BTW look for games with tate mode such as shmups because they play best with a Flip Grip

Probably just Mario Odyssey and TOTK, I'm not even sure if it's worth playing Breath of the Wild since TOTK just feels like an upgrade
I personally enjoyed the Xenoblade games but I wouldn't necessarily recommend them since I think most people wouldn't like them

I don't have enough distance to know if TotK works as a standalone. I do think BotW is the more cohesive experience, even if TotK is better overall.

Probably right, I imagine if you drop yourself right in TOTK you would be pretty confused with the story at least
