kinda feel like playing it again soon. though the last time i thought about it, the modpack i wanted to try required some program called wabbajack and you had to manually click like 5 buttons for every single mod in the pack.

Isn't the whole point of Wabbajack that you can just download a modlist in a few clicks without having to worry about compatibility or anything? Makes sense because just the thought of making my own mod list makes my eyes immediately glaze over.
Anyway, Skyrim is a great game when you're a teenager and the Xbox 360 is cutting edge technology but I don't think it holds up, and people really overrate how much mods make up for that fact. A lot of mods are technically impressive but the people who make them just have such terrible taste. An obvious example is that all the mods that improve character models essentially make them into pornographic barbies, but even environmental and lighting mods are so garish and ugly. And I've never encountered any vocie acting in a mod for any game that didn't immediately make me cringe into oblivion.

Best writing I've seen in a fallout mod was Project Brazil (Pretty sure). Written entirely by teencels (or at least they all started as teencels) about a group of teencels and it's kino.
The opening fight is literally nerds V jocks. You get sent a thirst trap over "the network", one of the foids instantly wants to murder the other one when they leave the vault because the other foid si prettier

I assume the cringe mod voice acting is on purpose to match the professional voice acting.
Bethesda games are wildly overrated. They have this weirdly outsized cultural influence purely because of Todd's marketing memery. They have enough name recognition that even old people can ask their kids if they still play the skyrims.
