So is all this sweet baby inc stuff going to result in anything even slightly positive for the consumers?

I'm kind of tired of the bad guys winning all the time :(

They'll never stop covering for each other. Their industry is deeply nepotistic, and they'll always defend the people in their in-group.

But I find it interesting that they actively seem to want another gaymergay. Journos control the narrative, so they could easily choose not to frame it as G*mergate 2 if they wanted to.

My guess is the first G*mer Intifada was actually a positive for them. It gave them a chance to stake out their positions and offer a show of force. If they're calling for another, it's because they're insecure in their positions (due to layoffs and increasing dissatisfaction with the games industry) and want a chance to regroup and show they're still in control.

And it's a weaker narrative this time too, "a bunch of sweaty g*mers harassing women out of game development" is a much more compelling and lurid narrative than "a harassment campaign against a consulting corporation" which is borderline nonsensical.

So, no, it probably won't achieve anything in itself, but I'm not sure things are looking great for journos.

"a harassment campaign against a consulting corporation"

"White Nationalist hate groups launch a fascist crusade against black people in media" has a neat ring to it

See my post where they have to explain in the comments they purposely omitted things to give a slanted story.
