the reason why i prefer fights in dragons dogma over elden ring and dark souls is because the fights are OUTSIDE. i’m tired of arenas, i think it’s miraculous that a monster can just take you anywhere. i still wish the venom fight in spider-man 2 was across new york https://t.co/3m5uERpT0J

Not even an argument, elden ring combat is incredibly basic. You roll, you attack, maybe you use your one garbage special move. It's fun but the strategy never changes.
In DD you are doing mad shadow of the colossus shit and there's all sorts of weird options available

The strategy depends on which weapon you use which changes everything. DD looks like a slightly improved Palworld.

Ultimately none of the bosses in ER are different experiences though. It's all totally superficial. The boss does some flashy move you have to watch for ten solid seconds, you push dodge, you hit it. Once you've got the weapon you're using it's just all the same right to the end and all that changes is how tight the dodge timing is and how spongy the health bars are

in DD you can throw goblins at each other, chop off pieces of enemies to weaken them first, use different elements to disable certain enemy moves, grab an ogre's leg and shove it to make him fall over, shit like that. it gives you options to frick around instead of just like "push circle, push r1, repeat on every enemy until game ends"

elden beast is the one exception because you have to walk for ten minutes to hit the stupid thing after every five minute long stupid floppy attack animation
