Isn't it weird that Nintendo hasn't made a new Mother game?

I'm not even talking like it's innate popularity. Undertale outsold the entire mother series and it's basically a weird version of that series. There's probably a hundred mother/tale clones at this point so obviously people want this type of game. I just don't understand Nintendo. Did the creator of Mother spit in the face of the president of Nintendo 10 years ago or something? Did you know there's a direct made by fans for the making of so many new games???

Metal Gear Survive is proof that more art without the auteur rarely works.

The creator of Mother, Shigesato Itoi, is one of the more consistently famous people in Japan, he never needed to continue the series or work in video games.

Check out his album.

It was a project which was an outgrowth of his collaboration with Haruki Murakami and his love of NES Dragon Quest which is the reason for the strong similarities between Mother and Haruki Murakami's books.

He now runs the largest personal website in Japan which rakes in cash and an Instagram clone just for pets and said that he doesn't want to make a fourth Mother game.

It would contradict the entire thesis of Mother 3 to make another, when you make a game about the end of adolescence and moving on from the past it would be pretty r-slurred to go back to the bright zany adventures again as if nothing happened.
