Fallout "fan" upset at a positive change for the game

https://twitter.com/JezCorden/status/1793036603906031633

I would actually go as far to say the next elder scrolls should have more of that stuff too. I think proper mining, foraging and managing settlements can work

:#marseycringe2:

It will no longer be Fallout if they remove it.

this is the average fallout fan now btw :#marseyfallout: :#marseylegiongenocide:

"I want our games to be worse!"

Yeah that sounds like the fallout fanbase ngl.

I doubt it.

They only expanded it for Starfield.

Why would they get rid of all that work.

>the fallout games will be worse without building

wtf am i reading

New Fallout will have a randomly generated voxel map, randomly generated NPC's and all quests will be radiant. It will be true sandbox, with focus on base building, mining ores and hunting, harnessing that quintessential Fallout experience.

I liked the base building in FO4, but only because it gave you an additional reason for farming glue for building and modifying expensive and powerful late gayme weaponry (and for huffing of course)

But all of the main quest stories are r-slurred. But the game and locations were very atmospheric

I haven't played 4, I play fallout for the story and characters and with Emil at the helm for 4 those things were doomed from the start.

So, no opinion other than base building is not a core feature of Fallout like this guy is claiming. I do get that it can make hoarding loot more satisfying since you can do something with it other than stash it in your house (or Motel room in Novac), but I rather have developers spend time on the core features of the game.

FO4 instantly makes a lot more sense if you ignore the story and assume the setting is like a decade after the bombs fell (seriously why the frick haven't they cleared rubble out of a city that's over 100 years old. you can't even rely on the "full of minorities" excuse because it's not )

Roleplaying as a generic good guy who uplifted the scattered remains of settlements plagued by bandits and monsters and super mutants and shit,

and upgrading their places with protection and farms and safety and residences was fufulling,

and then seeing lategame the shitload of trading caravans on the road, as the remains of humanity slowly reclaimed some semblance of civilization back was cool.

I unironically think that Todd loves that aesthetic so that's why there's always shit laying around.

Jump in the discussion.

Which is fine because the aesthetic is kino and it'd be weird to have it too clean

But at that point why make it 7 billion years after the bombs dropped???!

Starfield kinda did with it's generated maps. Bethesda returning to its roots.

There's a mod that makes them much shorter

The unity version also has an option to make them smaller and they are still too big.

Single player construction games have the same problem as e.g. playing minecraft by yourself. You can make these huge buildings but then what. Games should not let you build anything unless it has an actual practical in game purpose.

Death Stranding did it best

Otherwise it turns into post apocalyptic farmville

In my opinion, they should release base building and managing NPCs into a separate game a-la Fallout Shelter. It clashes too much with walking into remote locations to do grunt work for Preston or being the Chosen One and fighting the Apocalipse with epic music in background.

I always thought it would make a good strategy game. You could build the towns, managed the people, control squads of dudes, burn down the opponents towns. Add some Warcaft III style quest chains and maybe some hero units.

Someone should go tell this to the frickers who made that half life rts, that's a darn good idea.

I started playing 76 a few weeks ago and am having a lot of fun with making an awesome base, all content in the game rewards building blueprints and you get more pay to win currency just by doing group content than you can spend so you can get very nice store stuff regularly.

im the cute twink new fan

Imagine if world of warcraft or destiny 2 allowed you to build your own base anywhere on the map. The base building in f76 is cool and makes it unique.

76 is too easy. There's no threat from anything attacking you. What's the point? (Other than being a buildstrag).

Yeah, I know. Its auto-building feature should've been a part of the main game, you are a dude with a nuke launcher, not a free labourer for NPCs.

Now now, you can't blame Fallout 4 fans for being r-slurred. If they weren't, they wouldn't be Fallout 4 fans.

I really couldn't care less about fallout anymore. Honestly there isn't a single great fallout game. All of them up to four have awful gameplay and four had its own problems.

Now the next elder scroll could be pretty cool. Bethesda has had enough time to fix the combat. The combat was trending better over the series as well.

Also I just feel that elder scrolls games have more freedom in terms of story telling.

Meaningless twaddle. Todd could shit in a plastic box and these r-slurs would buy it.
