Baby wake up, new Hyenas just dropped - Concord, a 5v5 live service hero shooter slop and Overwatch ripoff straight from 2018, with le self-aware witty Marvel/Borderlands/Reddit/Adult Swim humor, and obese black women with pronouns in character selection screen as heroes:soysnoo::marseyglobohomo::marseyobey: gets hit with overly negative response (82% dislike rate) in its reveal, and also accused of plagiarizing Guardians of the Galaxy :marseydisney: :marseysleep:

The debut of Concord at Sony's PlayStation State of Play hasn't been as well received as Sony and developer Firewalk would've hoped. In the hours since Concord's first trailer and gameplay were revealed, the game has been hit with an overly negative response from g*mers.

As of publishing, Concord's cinematic reveal trailer has a 76.99% negative rating while its gameplay trailer has an 82.39% dislike rate. And the comments from fans haven't been any better, with Concord being panned for numerous things ranging from appearing like another Overwatch clone to having “no soul”.

“The cutscene sold me on an adventure,” said one commenter. “The very next words out [of] the developer's mouth is 5v5 FPS.”

Said another, “It's like Guardians of the Galaxy meets Suicide Squad meets Overwatch.”

Concord is a 5v5 hero shooter set in the new Concord galaxy. The game sees players take control of one of a number of “Freegunners”, each having different abilities.

“The Freegunners roam the stars taking high-stakes jobs on worlds across Wild space, where they face other fiercely competitive Freegunner crews,” game director Ryan Ellis said. “From match-to-match, you'll form your team of Freegunners with other players and battle it out with rival crews to take home the reward across a variety of maps and modes.”

He added: “While our core gunplay will feel familiar to shooter fans, the versatility and variety of each Freegunner and their abilities makes it so aim and thumbskill alone aren't always enough to come out on top.”

The game launches on August 23, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC. !g*mers

Ledditors are right about this one thing - the average live service AAA slop these days takes around 5-7 (if not even more) years of development to be released, by the time that they get announced, then the trend that they were going for is now an outdated fad of the past, hence why you see so much utter bullshit color vomit/Borderlands dialogue/MCU humor/Tumblr quirky character hero shooters in the past few years.

These Fortnite/Overwatch clones started development roughly 7 years ago during 2017-2018 when Overwatch, Fortnite, and the MCU were in their peak in profit and mainstream popularity, and the post-COVID gaming/tech industry layoffs were not a big thing yet (plus the world economy was also less insane), so by the time that their development is finished between 2022-2024, they are already outdated relics of the past, and AAA games are now in a more hostile and difficult economic environment.

For example, Hyen-ACK!s started development in 2017 to cash in the Overwatch rawr xD quirky Pixarslop, since 2017, the main popular genres in the AAAslopshere have evolved from being Hero Shooters, to Battle Royales, to Extraction Shooters, to now being some type of Battlepass Coop Shooters, but since your 300 million buck AAAslop started development in 2017, then you are still permanently stuck in 2017.

And by this rate, in 2030 you will still be stuck in the 2024 extraction coop shooter live-service battlepass trend, when the majority of people have already moved on from it, and are into the new trend that you missed out, because you have been in stasis for almost a decade.

Still think it was funny that people were just playing movies and porn under Artifact on Twitch because no one was actually going to watch people play Artifact.

@EliteBuckBreaker remember how hard hearthstone streamers were shilling this pre release, calling it really deep and well made game. Then it came out and the gameplay was shit with heavy rng, hard too understand, and extremely boring. The steam description was really funny too.

@Sneed and @SupremeShitposter are saying that Artif-ACK!ts gameplay was actually good, but you are the first one who claims to have disliked it gameplay, so why dont you three discuss it here? :marseytroublemaker:

Yeah all card games are heavy in RNG from what I understand. All card games are also boring so its good for a card game.

Blaming its failure on its pricetag was always cope and one of the first things nooticed when /dafg/ went full doomposting. If the game was actually good gameplay wise, the cost would be a non issue when the main appeal was being able too sell you're shit too other people too profit from artishart. Doubt artishart ever had more than 1k real players when iirc it came bundled with free shit for dotards.

Never actually played artishart, but watched it before artifact general became /dafg/ and that is what @EliteBuckBreaker remember from its gameplay.
