Wasn't Garrus desirable in ME cause male Sheperd COUND'T romance him? So much that they had to create a different gender for the 3rd game?
I don't think the dev and the story writer understand, "absence makes the heart grow fonder", if you let the player romances EVERYONE, you are going to lose the uniqueness of each characters.

DA2 had unironically the best system and only LGBTBBQ people complained about it because it was bad for muh representation. Don't want to get stragged at? Don't pick the "I want to suck your peepee" dialogue option. BG3 was bad because, from what I've gathered, the strags came onto you regardless of your choices
