Why is it so hard to get a modern city sim that actually puts some effort into simulating growth over time instead of letting you paint whatever wholesome 100 city you want or having stupid level-up gimmicks? Total Cities: Skylines death.

Why does SimCity4 look better than CS2? If only Maxis wasn't forced by EA to cuck the game in a thousand different ways, it would still be regularly played today. The dream would be the source code getting leaked and the game getting remade like OpenRCT has been. Also if the turbo-neurodivergents who run the modding site finally got their shit together and allowed for people to publish bundled mods, instead of every single BAT needing random dependencies from a half-dozen websites last updated in 2010, every single one requiring that you unzip and properly install it individually.
