Why does VR still not have any amazing high quality games?

The one good exclusive VR title I know of was Half Life Alyx. Since then it has been crickets over there.

VR as a concept has so much potential so why does has it not taken off so far? Especially in terms of worthwhile exclusives of the AAA variety?

At the very least they could try to step up conversion of pc/ps/xbox games to PSVR variants but they don't even do that outside of resident evil games.

VR should be a whole lot bigger than it is today. What is holding it back? The weight of the headset? The price? The image quality and resolution?

Nevermind it's definitely weight. PSVR2 weighs 560 grams.

If they could get VR weight down below 200 grams they have a real chance at selling them in the mass market. No way its happening before that though.

The last big hardware gimmick, motion controls, blew up in everyone's face except Nintendo. Nintendo hasn't tried VR and nobody else wants to take the risk of going all-in on it. AAA games cost hundreds of millions of dollars to make and need millions of sales to make a profit, no company wants to be the first to try. Except Valve, but as far as I know, Half Life Alyx didn't even turn a profit. They should've titled it Half Life 3 imo, would've sold billions. Because there's no standout titles nobody wants to buy VR peripheries and because there's no consumer base nobody wants to make games for them. Also, the big genres right now are battle pass FPS-slop and third person moviegames, neither of which work well in VR.

The only thing it's good for is budget vehicle simulators.
