Balatro is fun but I hate how there is no tactical depth. Every good build shoehorns you into making only one type of hand and the game practically plays itself at that point.
The best deckbuilding rougelikes are the hearthstone dungeon runs.

for me, they feel very weak compared to the other 5 card hands. straights are easier to draw and have nutso scaling. flushes are easiest to draw, have a lot of joker synergy, and let you jam enhanced cards with minimal effort. to add on to that, deck building for 4oak is easier than deckbuilding for full houses, while also giving you better scaling and all the joker synergy sans pants and fibonacci. while those are some of the strongest uncommon +mult jokers and definitely make full houses more alluring, they are not enough in my opinion to carry the hand.

Balatro is zoomer adhd-riddled slop, of all the roguelites I've played it is the most RNG-heavy one. You're absolutely just rerolling until you get that one combo that lets you steamroll the game.

i wouldnt say too easy, my winrate on gold stake is still like only like 30-40%. might be a skill issue. im not too all-too familiar with the genre but i wouldnt be surprised if it was on the easier side for a deckbuilder though.

Ante 8 just seems to easy for the W at least once you become better at using consumables to push you to the late game.
And anything after 12 is not possible for 95% of decks, its easily the hard cap for most decks.
Now whats really impressive is if you can get like 10 wins in a row on gold.
But for the most part once you learn what works i find most runs will end in a W if you pay attention to the boss ante.

you beat gold stake with every single joker in the game, getting the gold sticker placed on all 150 jokers in the collection. this takes quite a lot of gold stake wins (around 100 in my case) and often requires having sacrificial slots, meaning you need to win with only 1 to 3 scoring jokers. it's not as hard as it sounds, but it is time consuming and requires careful planning.
