I was just wondering why NO ONE has done a game like this despite that feature in sonic being iconic and loved. Somehow immediately 5m later I see this in my X feed. He's really trying to make it as expansive as possible.

I'm shocked we haven't had serious Animal Crossing or MySims competitors as well. Despite all the roguelite and farming slop, none of those devs are smart enough to target actually underserved markets.

There actually are sims clones like the completed low pixel one and there's a big major ones being made right now called life by you and paralives. Animal crossing has a mediocre clone on steam too but it comes off as kinda creepy. The problem is that the sims is unironically coding wise at least a AA game. All those interactions and models really add up. A small team cannot do it.

MySims, not Sims. MySims was basically EAs attempt at an Animal Crossing like game with a smaller roster of unique characters, minigames, and a shorter day/night cycle. I am excited for Paralives nonetheless. Life by you was cancelled though iirc.
