Today, our team members received a Cease & Desist order on behalf of Activision Publishing in relation to the H2M-Mod project. We are complying with this order and shutting down all operations immediately and permanently.

The Trailer, posted earlier today.
Steam page is being flooded with negative reviews like Helldivers 2.
FaZe Clan (remember them?) begging Activision to reconsider.
A few especially evil points
They weren't profiting off of it and you need a legal copy to run the mod (although that's never stopped any lawyer )
Activision reportedly knew about the project for years
The series was on sale just a day prior to this
As with cease and desist orders, they can't distribute the mod in any legal way now
Obviously, this was done to deter players away from that old shit and back to black ops six

so the timing of all this was on purpose, wasn't it? they knew they were going to bully the mod guys in to submission but ALSO knew their game would sell extra copies because of it so they waited until the last possible second.
that's fricked.
