I might be r-slurred but for the first time since like Stellaris I feel genuinely hyped for an upcoming Paradox game

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/developer-diary/tinto-talks-26-21st-of-august-2024.1700025/

Pretty much everything coming out for "Project Caesar" (It's EU5, everyone knows it's EU5, just call it fricking EU5 you fricking Swedes) except the meme year start date (Byzantium should not be a viable country in an early modern period game, those schizos died in the middle ages let them stay dead frick byzaboos) and the ugly 3d model they keep forcing in every game since CK3 to justify having an in-house 3d modeling department sounds too good to be true, the newest dev diary literally has them talking about playable "army based countries", which I assume is paving the way for playable mercenary company DLC, that sounds fun as heck especially in multiplayer.

Feel free to PM me a link to this thread and laugh at me for being an r-slur when this game comes out in two years and ends up being a Victoria 3 tier trash fire.

:#marseythumbsup: sure thing

There's zero chance EU5 is good on release. In fact, there's a good chance it's never good.

Paradox hasn't done anything recently to convince me that they understand eu4. The game is interesting because it's a video game adaptation of a board game. Adding pops and shit to make it more of a simulation is a misguided idea.

Luckily I can hang out in eu4 and wait for eu5 to maybe work one day.
