I honestly do not care much because AC was basically pure shit past 2nd game, but the whole Yasuke situation is really funny to me because it's obvious to anyone who is not a coping leftoid that they DESPERATELY wanted a black protagonist so they grasped at straws to get a single example of a historical black person in feudal Japan they could find to justify it and shield themselves from criticism of "tokenism", but it backfired pretty badly.
From the moment AC showed it could take place at various different periods, people have been BEGGING Ubisoft to make a game set in Japan, now they got Monkey Paw'd

Most of the story here is just generic "western video games company shoves black people into everything" but the part that makes it really fun is that this whole drama exploded the career of some crazy historian who has been revealed to have made up all his stuff, gone into wiki edit wars, and literally pushed books that say yasuke used to pound nobunaga's butt with his massive ebony peepee
