They could just send a cease and desist, no? And why not send it along with the earlier Yuzu takedown? I think he just sold his userbase out, straight up.

Nintendo made a guy named Bowser a giga wage-slave by garnishing his wages for essentially forever.
Imagine being a codecel and quasi-blacklisted while having your wages garnished by Nintendo. You'd have to unironically live off cup noodles forever.

tbf he did a lot more than just tamper with nintendo products, look it up

No. Wage-garnishing by Nintendo is a fate worse than child support.

No way is Nintendo paying emulator devs to stop making them, that's how you get more emulators

It's just a payment of a single person in the project. Combine that with the threat of getting sued into oblivion and you have someone who's likely going to play ball exactly how Nintendo wanted it.
If making emulators were easy there would be a lot more groups than just Yuzu or Ryujinx. It's very much possible to just pay off or even hire the developers involved, just look how Denuvo basically turned the tide on piracy.

Yuzu made money off it. Ryujinx did nothing wrong. They presumably took a bribe.
