Persona 5 always felt like a jrpg for people who don't like jrpgs.
Yeah its pretty with good music and decent dungeon design, but the actaully combat gameplay under the hood is like braindead easy, like legitimately some older pokemon games have more difficulty without challenge restrictions.
Anyways I put like 30 hours into it and just got bored of never being challenged, and despite it being a modern jrpg you couldn't adjust the difficulty in the middle of the game.

Persona is strange to me as you think with the social link systems youd want the game to be repayable but they are so easy and like 100 hours so no one actually replays them. So the game is set up so that following a guide you can just see everything in one play through which kinda defeats the point of a social-link/time management system

Yeah FF7-10 and Pokemon are pretty easy, but games like Bravely, Golden Sun, Radiant Historia, ect. have very good difficulty scaling.

the most recent DLC is actually solidly hard if you arent brokenly high level. It's all double battles and the story is better than expected (you mind break a kid by stealing every pokemon he wants + become his sister's bff so he becomes a grindcel and everyone hates him)

I played the 3ds remake but yeah it is very underated. I wish there were more time travel games that focused on jumping between multiple timelines rather than different time periods
