I recently replayed like half of P5R after playing P5 when it released and you have way too much time, and despite that they still buffed so many of the out of school activities. It makes it feel like a chore to complete all of it rather than choices with drawbacks and opportunity cost and the fear of an overbearing Morgana causing late return fees.
The way the new girl (isn't) integrated into the story beyond some cutscenes makes her feel like a modded character.
Dunno if I'd recommend P5 over P5R though.
