Ah, son of a b-word, you beat me to it! I was planning on writing about the chud seethe over this game later today. Even went through the trouble of collecting /v/ seethe threads for a compilation at the end of my post.

Anyways, something I'd still like to contribute is a very hilarious (and very unsuccessful) effort to get a hate campaign for the game off the ground. /v/irgins are very eager to rail against lizations of weebshit otakuslop high brow literary KINO that westoids are too stupid to appreciate. In this effort, they will pore over every new English release and start making comparisons to the Japanese script. Every self-professed Japanese-only-player will come out of the woodworks to explain to the rest of /v/ the subtle nuances of nihongo and how lators get it WRONG and BUTCHER it maliciously in service to DEI and globohomo.

The extensive demo for Metaphor was no different! Immediately, people found this discrepancy:

...well that's it actually. Amongst the dozens of ragebait over these TWO (2) lines people would always ask for more examples of differing meanings... and none would be posted in any of them lol. For whatever reason, maybe a single Groomercord cabal has an axe to grind with Fatlus or the swarm of ESL r-slurs on /v/ actually can't read English well enough to understand the localization, this game was fated to attract the ire of many a (or maybe just one) /v/irgin's wrath. Such is life on 4cuck. They'll take away the IP counter but let the schizos reign supreme.

So is this another UO cherrypick situation that people lose their minds over for 6 months until the game actually comes out or is there substance this time? The "lation" threads leading up to UO instantly fizzled out once people actually played the game, now AFAIK this demo is like 6 hours long so how is the rest of the game?

Well since nobody responded I'll write this off as another nothingburger just like Unicorn Overlord.

Lastly here's a bunch of threads where chuds seethe that an original IP, hard JRPG with no casual dating mechanics sold over a million on its first day because it's a fantasy setting with different races.
