Yeah but he's also hugely impactful in objectively good ways; SpaceX is doing more for space exploration than anything since the moon landing, Tesla demonstrated that electric cars can be cool (though we're still a long way from them being preferable or desirable for most people, but it's inevitable long-term), I'd argue that the liberation of X was a good thing (though shutting it down would be better), Starlink is extremely important, Neuralink has a world of potential.
He's a fat neurodivergent dweeb who often says extremely embarrassing things but he's also likely going to overshadow Edison in the history books and he's not a morally vile person like so many of his contemporaries are.

I think he hit on two or three really really good ideas and marketed the shit out of them, plus he drives people harder than a pack mule. But people selectively forget about the whole bunch of stinkers he shits out on the regular (the Hyperloop/boring company/cybertruck/naming his children r2d2/buying X or using X at all).
I don't think he'll become an Edison or Tesla mostly because I don't think anyone can become anything more than a meme in our hyper informed future. He's too brilliant to be forgotten, too neurodivergent to be remembered. One of god's own mutants.
