Shoecels are in my top 5 of most cringe enthusiasts. Here's a video of Whistlin Diesel using a $35k pair of Air Mags as work boots

Its the one kind of enthusiast that I cannot understand at all. Like with other kinds, there's at least some kind of appreciable qualities and differences between the things.
But these are just shoes. "Sports" shoes that all practically look identical to each other, all nearly identical in construction.

I can understand being into all kinds of fashion except for sneakers
I have shirts and pants 40 years old, coats will last forever, leather dress shoes can be cobbled and patched and polished.
But sneakers?
Sneakers are disposable trash with no craftsmanship in their construction. There's only like two brands anyone cares about. And everyone into it is just doing it for money or clout

Nike distribution centers have a hilarious amount of security for employees entry and exit. Looks like an airport.

To understand a Sneakerhead you have to think like one, they don't just see the sneakers as a shoe, they see them as Art and go after limited releases just to flex on other sneakerheads, it's very similar to Car enthusiasts the difference being they are usually black and younger than 65 years old. It's kinda weird but at least it's more respectable than Vydia collectors that buy 30-year-old crap you can play for free on emulator.
