Just as I told my hoi boys, and even the plazatards, all this is a nerf to germany This isn't a larp thing btw, just game balance. This just a horrible no-good spirit
but what germany lost in rearmament potential they've (slightly lets be honest) gained in war bonuses
Kaiserreich Larp Shit because why not
The strongest buff, which is tbh a half nerf, is them adding "the inner circle" effectively 3 extra advisor slots, which is an interesting idea, if potentially ballbusting
ECO has changes too, this is the new industry treee
Seems decent enough, although heavily focused on war, as opposed to the old trees focus on rearmanent, which does do damage to germanys potential, atleast to an extent. Although increased rubber production (construction speed) will certainly be a nice addition.
This was already in the game, just as events instead.

Years ago I saw someone in a forum talk about the type of game mechanic that devs add to a game just to have more buttons to click and increasingly obscure modifiers to change. He called it "Wombat Balancing".

someone should make a video essay about this
half the reworked minors and most mod nations seem to start with debuff spirits you spend 2 years of focuses to get rid of. It's to prevent an early war and throwing off the balance of the world war thats supposed to happen, but still.

Fundamentally the game is fricked as anything other than a historical mode WW2 simulator, simply because it starts in 1936. But paradox wants to have their cake and eat it too: a make-your-own-adventure interwar game where you can transform your nation, but it starts in 1936 and wouldn't have given you time to do anything other than make a few more guns and planes before the shit hits the fan. They compensate by giving every nation r-slurred meme builds that pull vast armies and industries out of nowhere so that you can actually accomplish something in those 2,5 years before the big war starts.

It's 3.75 years, I get what you mean though. You pull out enough industry for CAS spam.

World tension generated by you, followed AI France/UK guarantees realistically makes WW2 kick off in less than 2,5 years. Beating the UK and France takes half a year, so now you've basically won the game before 1940.

We're talking about historical lol, all balance decisions should be made assuming the war starts on the 1st of September 1939, or around that time. There is no way to account for player rushing, and such behavior shouldn't be inkorporated or encouraged.
First and foremost, HOI is about ww2. Your manual justificatios on timbuktu. are outside that scope.

But that's the alt-history scope they give every country, like turn Latvia into a global superpower and defeat the USSR and Germany, but do it in two years because we shoehorned what people really want to do into our WW2 game. The worst offenders are countries like Byzantine path Greece or Ethiopia, where you have to conquer the world every game because factions form and the world war kicks off.
