He's not a Merari... but this whole "I'm why you can talk about guns and pro life on some subreddits" thing is ridick. Because Merari made a rule on several subs that you can't talk about pro life views. It was basically "I'm one of the good ones"...like I said in my post. Most of the powermods LOATHE conservatives or heck, even anyone right of Sanders. Saying that you are essentially buddies with them means that you haven't found one position you aren't willing to cave on or back out of discussion about when one of these buttholes goes at you. Spines, they are good things to have.

He's the type of dude that can actually be friends with other people with different views, even if it's not reciprocated. Plus you saw when N8 kicked Merari from 70+ subs unilaterally. Merari or someone like him may have the ability to do that to blat. It's not about spines really, it's about who is higher on the mod list.

Believe it or not, IRL in touchgrassland I'm also a person who can be friends with people with other political views. But online is different. And the post in politicalhumor goes to the heart of the matter. People are being cast off of social media platforms for expressing perfectly reasonable Republican views. That shouldn't be happening. It's Orwellian narrative control. Texas is trying to do something about it. The mod hierarchy that exists plays right into this problem, too. He should not have to fear having a mod retaliate against him for sharing political views. This is the whole deal. But he doesn't have to fear that, because he's one of the good ones.
