Fun fact: during WW2, the Russians trained dogs to find food under tanks and then strapped bombs to their backs which could be triggered via impact-detonation.
Apart from being heinous towards the poor doggos, the problem was that they trained the dogs to find food under Russian tanks (which had diesel engines), so they cheerfully ignored the German tanks, with their gasoline engines, and Russian tank crews spent much of 1941-43 shooting every dog they saw in blind panic.
