The only way to make /r/transpassing pretty safe would be to close it up, make it private, and only allow in people whom we've manually checked and personally vetted.

I personally prefer the artist-created marseys because they really do a good job at conveying concepts. For example, the AI could never independently come up with a concept like

where you immediately know what it means and can use it to comment on something. We're creating a language here after all.
I don't dislike the AI generated Marseys and if one of them happens to be really good I'll use it, but to me they just generally don't seem to have the charm or soul of an artisan-crafted Marsey.
