I mean Iβm definitely biased towards my own sorta area but here goes:
S Tier- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. No compromises, no grey areas (mostly), maximum rigour. I am not smart enough to do this lol
A tier- Biology and the part of psych that is basically biology- itβs more applied, but itβs still pretty rigorous. If I had enough work ethic Iβd be doing this but Iβm lazy
B tier- The other half of psych, polsci, economics. To do it well you still do need a good grasp of maths and this is the last point where βevidenceβ means anything. This is where Iβm at
C tier- IR theory and security theory (basically shit that pretends to be polsci but isnβt). At this point the only real evidence is polling data, and you start to get people who are getting high on theory (looking at you neorealism)
D tier- classics, history and fine arts. Everything is up for interpretation, there is still a tenuous grasp to reality (ratios, colour wheels, etc.) but itβs the first place where you can just make shit up and get away with it as βcritical analysisβ or a βcreative interpretationβ.
F tier- sociology and linguistics. Everyone is high on theory, some bullshit Freud said 100 years ago is as close as this area gets to actual proof.

As a conservative, I'm really torn on the subject of masks.
On the one hand, my elderly stepdad has Parkinsons and dementia, and he doesn't remember where he is half the time. He gets aggressive when he's in an unfamiliar place, and he's a former military veteran (and weirdly strong for an old guy) so we can't take him to get vaccinated. My stepdad's a really cool guy and I don't want him to die just because some chuds can't wear masks.
On the other hand, my ex-wife is very promiscuous, so it's only a matter of time before she comes down with an STD and then Covid will give her the old one/two punch and kill her. I hate my ex-wife because she cheated on me and tried to gaslight me about it, so that's a very good reason not to wear masks.
Back to the first hand, a lot of other people will die if we don't wear masks, and some of those people do cool things. For example, I'm a fan of Taylor Swift's music, and I'm pretty sure she's immunocompromised, so it would suck to lose her.
On the other hand, would Taylor give a shit about my well-being if my life was in danger, or would she just attempt to manipulate the situation to sell albums? I don't simp for anybody - even Taylor - and people who don't have any empathy for me totally deserve to die, because that way evolutionary Darwinism will teach the remaining survivors to be more empathetic to people like me.
So obviously this is a very nuanced and difficult decision. I'll have to wait until more information comes out to really be able to make an informed decision on the mask issue.
