That's really weird, because the guys running the operation outright said they did not have the military assets available to secure both Bagram and the Kabul embassy.
Securing Bagram would have required the ANA, which was in the process of collapsing. We could have surged troops, but that was seemingly off the table in line with the agreement signed with the Taliban.
