Why are twittoids so mad at the idea that Marx became more popular when Russia implemented communism based off his ideas? Am I getting this wrong?

A core tenet of marxism is that the ideas like historical progression are more than correct, they are inevitable laws of nature.
If Marx only became popular because of the soviet revolution (a revolution that wasn't accurate to marx's predictions) rather than because people independently realized that marx was correct it makes marx's laws look bad, I guess?
