Why are people even handwringing this “self”-hate point?
Even if he is nonbinary, this was targeted against gay people. Is Latinx on BIPOC violence self-hatred too?

I feel like there's this weird idea that homophobia is completely inseperable from anything that happens to the LGBT+ as a whole. It could be all gays getting butchered and some gender-fluid neurodivergent will treat as a reason to start posting on her own life (which is what transtwitter did right after). It ends up not really addressing how homophobia toward gay men is far and above more hostile than to the others.
