Preferably with a katana followed by a livestreamed seppuku during a spacewalk. Doing it in the name of the Emperor against Americans and Russians because of WW2 would make it the most dramatic event of the decade.

Yukio Mishima. He was one of Japan's greatest creative minds post-war.

It'll be interesting to see how American journos cover Japan in the coming years. If the glowies aren't r-slurred, they'll heavily push the narrative that a reemergence of jingoism is good and necessary. A fully re-armed and war hungry client Japan should be the single most important goal of the US State Dept, but they're unfortunately the most insufferably smug and misguided arm of US foreign policy.

That and fully divesting from Pakistan now that we're out of Afghanistan. Let the ISI reap what they sowed for decades when they fully learn that their Taliban neighbors don't care about international borders. It's incredibly frustrating that our leadership doesn't seem to acknowledge that China already cucked us out of influence in Pakistan, and that treating India as an emerging peer partner instead of a Cold War era 3rd worldistan is in our best interests.

Nuking (with appropriate levels of restraint) both of those shitholes before they finally launch enough nukes at each other to destroy the planet is even more in everyone's interest.

Would Japan militarize though? They have stage 4 soycer, even south koreans are probably more manly. :marseysad: Like even with a story with pseudo fascist themes like SnK at the end the protagonist just goes 'no genocide is bad so I'll doom my own race instead' and none of the native fans find anything wrong with that wtf :marseyyikes:.

Eh, their pop is more pro China but their pop is the most schizo one on earth you don't know when they'll start burning xi effigies over some r-slurred issue. Burgers seem to have their elites by the balls tho the army chief publicly apologized to burgeristan over khan's flirting with ruzzkies amid accusations of unseating him for burgers.

I don't know anything about Japanese pop culture, so I can't comment on that. The JSDF has been on a decade long program of capacity building, so I think the will is still there among the military leadership. I'll always be a rightoid at heart, so I put stock in genetic predisposition.

Pakistan isn't willing to kill the burger money faucet yet, so they'll still put on the performative apologetics. They're inching ever closer to China though, and they're definitely not going to get any more modern hardware from the US because the chinks will have it disassembled and blueprinted within a month. It's past the tipping point, the US would have to give Pakistan more shit to win back influence, but giving them more shit is too much of a security risk.

Pakistan is yet another case of the US' best blessing being a double-edged sword. We're geographically isolated in the most resource rich lands on Earth and unconquerable by any realistic means. The flip side to that is significantly influencing Eurasian affairs will always require an outsized investment of resources because the power next door is always going to be more effective at coercion than the power across the sea.
