Twitter of course has and will have the practical technical power to ban or allow Trump, but for him to simply come back right would be an act of submission to Twitter's social power, regardless of who currently controls Twitter. Some sort of event or statement would have to indicate that not only was Trump unbanned technologically, but that Twitter's ban had always been invalid.

The stuff around 30-40 have been some of the most interesting stuff so far to me.
This is 100% jannies slowly going from "we have these basic set of moderation rules" to doing whatever the frick they want.
People act like moderation has always happened but this is a radical escalation in censorship and a fundamental change of how information is distributed. And it was all done without any serious thought or long-term consideration. Just an unaccountable, zero-transparency nobody executive silencing the US president and thousands of major public figures.
