I care about Bardfinn far less than most of this site but I just don't fricking get why he's the sacred cow for many of the Reddit jannie cabal. Why are they so eager to defend and enable him? Is it all the unpaid work he helps them do? Is it because of some friend/enemy distinction? Is it simply the
status? Thinking about it, it probably is, since Merari and few other mods were also very eager to defend Aimee Challenor.

Even though Bardfinn is a schizo that spouts into the void a lot of an in /r/modsupport, I do think xer probably does have some sort on an βinβ with some admins because people get sitewide banned very quickly for even thinking about getting confrontational in any capacity with him. Mods value their account more than anything and probably donβt want to risk it by going after Bard.
But I do think itβs more likely to be a βcircling the wagonsβ type of thing though as theyβre a clique and any attack on one of them is an attack on all of them.

This is the key to all of our questions on so many subjects. Somehow, we're forced to pretend that r-slurs are on an equal footing with us and that stops us from acknowledging that their decisions, actions and patterns of behaviours are creepy and r-slurred.

I've noticed this even with myself. IRL, almost eveyone I speak to in a social context is well above the population average, even if they are r-slurred at times. it's similar to this one dude in my friend group, irrationally angry all the time at celebrities not in his tribe (ultra liberals) deeply religious furry activist and has a fursuit on top of it all.
