honestly is camo even a concern now? like that 0.1 millisecond reaction time difference between noticing a gigantic screeching rumbling tank on a green field vs a brown field is really critical? especially when all the monitoring and shit is digital now anyway

When being spotted = being killed camo is more important than ever.

for a tank though? maybe I'm just too gay and limp-wristed to get it but I can't see how camo is helpful for the biggest loudest armor-plated machine ever

Because tanks aren’t rumbling down on you like in a video game, they’re hiding in a forest a mile away.

The Bradley is an infantry fighting vehicle. Its purpose and main function is to move troops around and then support them in combat. Tanks are armoured vehicles whose purpose is to engages in direct combat without infantry (while having tracks and a turret). Yes, this distinction is something only neurodivergents care about.

Um actually it's an Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle sweaty. Educate urself

If you ever spot someone being pedantic about this distinction, you know you're dealing with a dilettante.

Go stand next to a tank and an ifv in real life and you'll understand the difference.

Or better yet, have them both fire near you.

There is lots of videos of vehicles trying to hide in the middle of trees and getting bombed. Camo definitely makes a difference.

Maybe it makes them more difficult for scouting/spy planes to see, especially if they're parked at that moment?

ooooh that makes sense. or like spy satellites? if tanks are just 10x10 pixels on a map of the planet I could see the colour mattering a little more if you're just scanning around for big troop movements

I'll assume more for hiding from drones. The biggest takeaway from this war will be that those mini drones are gamechangers on a battlefield, and finding a way to disable them will likely be what L&M and their kin spends their R&D on.

Yeah but even then you don't look for tanks, you look for tracks
