We are so f’d now : southafrica :marseycrying::marseycrying::marseyflagsouthafrica::marseyretard2::marseyscared::marseyscared::marseyscared::marseyscared::marseyscream::marseyscream::marseyscream: HHHEEELLLPPP!!!

https://old.reddit.com/r/southafrica/comments/10y2lpv/we_are_so_fd_now?sort=controversial

Oh God oh frick oh frick oh god!

Hells, bells and buckets of blood, some dramatards save me from this heck! :marseyscream:

Our glorious South African government has just announced the creation of an entire new fricking ministry - a ministry of fricking Electricity! Not power supply or a cabinet that focusses on energy export or some such general public shit. No. Just electricity exclusively. :marseygigaretard::marseyretard2::marseystroke: The significance of this event demonstrates our ruling government is in such a deadlock of entrenched powerful factions obscuring our existing ministry of Energy and Minerals, that our prez has to use emergency fricking powers just to get past the Coal lorry unions which sabotage and blow up our fricking power stations :marseymushroomcloud::marseyakbar:

The absolute scope and degree of systemic imbecilic incompetence and utter nepotistic r-sluration has reached some seeeeeeeeeeeething levels in our gubmint. It's all over RSA news and radio, and everybody is freaking the frick out at the sheer r-sluration that our once prolific nation has been reduced to such a degree of fricktitude that we need to create a whole new ministerial department to circumvent our existing goverment which is so absolutely absolutely entrenched in corruption.

Even the high and mighty are now feeling the sting of almost 18 months of persistent loadshedding, as the economy shrinks and is devastated by unanounced and unavoidable power cuts. Butcheries have to keep generators running to not let their meat go off, supermarkets dump millions of rands worth of rotted food every Friday

The biggest r-sluration is when organized gangs of thieves :marseyrobber: keep stealing the power cables which run underground between Free State province cities and power stations. Because the power if off so often, it gives guys with nothing but Baboon spanners and wirecutters the opportunity to literally steal hundreds of metres worth of copper cables for scrap metal towards the Zimbabwean black market, without getting electrocuted:marseybangfast: in the process

BUT IT GETS WORRRRSSSE :marseycry::marseycry::marseyraging::marseyraging::marseycrying::marseycrying::marseycrying::marseyflagsouthafrica:

Many of the straggot politicians which procided over the shitshow of our r-slurred COVID policy during lockdown, will regain their emergency powers, these corrupt degenerates want their fingers in the pie which hasnt even been formed yet

As an example: The ANC government had made an attempt during covid to make private donation organizations like AFRIFORUM & SOLIDARITEIT for them illegal to make donations like food, bread, milk & necessary supplies to literally keep alive, as many people didn't have savings past like the 1st month. This made the ANC look really really bad that a private organizations could go to such much more efficient lengths to donate help to the needy, especially in the coloured communities in Cape Town shantie townships.

So AFRIFORUM took the ANC to the supreme court (high court? i dont remember) just so that they could fricking donate supplies in fricking peace

It came out later that the reason the ANC obstructed AFRIFORUM & SOLIDARITEIT emergency efforts was because they were taking the reason away for government tenders, which would have had parasites taking a cut of the budget long before that emergency funds could reach their intended targets

Then later it came OUT EVEN MORE r-slurred that the fricking ANC wanted to donate government money to FRICKING CUBA, their communist buddies:marseyrevolution: - that relief fund was supposed to go to South AFrican citizens not as political favours overseas frickfrickfrickfrickfrickfrick

AFRIFORUM proceeded to sue the ANC to halt that shit and keep our money to our current 30% jobless peeps. It's like the black gubmint leaders didn't even give a frick about their own suffering black kin. It literally took white afrikaner legal men to put a stop to that shit in the legal system, what the frick

https://mg.co.za/news/2022-03-23-court-rules-in-favour-of-afriforum-to-halt-r50m-donation-to-cuba/

I mention this, as these "people" are gonna be the same imbeciles who have a hand in charge of this new emergency Ministry of Electricity, and most sane south african are REALLy not optimistic that they have our best interests in mind

Please someone save meeee:marseylolcow::marseyfrozen:

ooh i didn't know there were multiple dramas. also sorry but do u have a milk tart recipe lmfao the recipe i used last time didn't set very well

i just meant the killing/land theft from mayo farmers in general. i remember first hearing about it in... 2018? but i'm a leaf, i didn't even know any south africans then, so i'm sure it's been an issue for a long time. just remember wondering if it was going to go better than the time zimbabwe gave all the mayo farms away and then had a famine. but honestly SA drama is top tier stuff, so i'm sure any kind of drama post you'd do would do well

this is the combo i did last time:

Sucre Patee (Pastry Crust)

β€’ β–’1 1/2 cups (188 grams) all-purpose flour

β€’ β–’1/3 cup (35grams ) confectioner’s sugar powdered sugar

β€’ β–’ΒΌ teaspoon salt

β€’ β–’9 Tablespoons (125grams) unsalted butter(cold or frozen) , cut into small pieces

β€’ β–’1 large egg yolk

From https://www.africanbites.com/milk-tart/

Filling

β€’ 1 cup white sugar

β€’ 3 tablespoons butter, melted

β€’ 3 egg yolks

β€’ 1 cup cake flour

β€’ 1 teaspoon baking powder

β€’ ΒΌ teaspoon salt

β€’ 4 cups milk

β€’ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

β€’ 3 egg white

β€’ 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar

1/2 tsp nutmeg

From https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/80160/south-african-melktert-milk-tart/

crust:

1. mix flour/sugar/salt

2. cut butter into dry ingredient mix

3. add egg yolk, mix until it just comes together

4. press it into your dish with your hands

filling:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2. Mix together sugar and butter in a large bowl until smooth. Add egg yolks and beat until light and fluffy. Sift in cake flour, baking powder, and salt; stir until well-blended. Mix in milk and vanilla until combined.

3. Whip egg whites with an electric mixer in a separate bowl to stiff peaks. Fold into batter. Pour into crust; sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.

4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Continue baking until the center is set when pie is gently jiggled, 25 to 30 minutes.

eleganza's notes: it took a long time to set properly, i think partly because the sheer volume of liquid (4 c milk!!!), it might set better if you split it into 2 smaller pie dishes or alternatively just making less filling
