Basically the more “near-peer” level leaders the more complicated and petty the politics gets. And jannies having the ability to demop those who are nominally “near peer” makes the stakes higher in the petty and complicated politics. It’s much better, in my opinion, to restrict that ability as much as possible.
Pulling that power back limits the damage a single spat can do, and reduces the points of failure. And with a task as manageable as a 10-20 entry list, it isn’t necessary to give that power to more than two people imo. The recent level flattening seems to be a good stopgap tho.
