There are three methods of heat transfer:
  • Conductive
  • Convective
  • Radiative
Not necessary infos
Vacuum insulated vessels prevent heat transfer by conductive (through the material) and convective (air/fluid cooling moving across substance carrying heat).
This one is transparent, so radiative energy (visible light) goes right though the walls and hits what’s inside, where it’s absorbed and converted to heat. That heat remains mostly inside.

Thats not how heating objects with radiation really works, although for the earth in total only about half is directly infrared. Uv has way more energy than infrared - no one is getting warm from x-rays.
Without the source im not 100% but im pretty sure that image is implying that at locations people generally live, most heating is infrared.
