This one comes from @lain who very kindly suggested I look at /r/ShrugLifeSyndicate in my quest to discover and document the mentally deranged who feel the need to post their secret esoteric knowledge on a public board for everyone to see

My findings down this avenue of research have been exciting, and the inevitable rabbit hole dug out for me by the chemically unstable is staggering in depth! Previously I simply memorized the names of notable subs and powerschizos but I’m going to have to start writing my findings down in a comprehensive list!

r/ShrugLifeSyndicate

The subreddit in question at first glance appears like one of those quirky “teehee random string of words and assumptions if you don’t get it get on my level” subs like /r/fifthworldproblems. The sidebar seems to suggest as much:

“ZOMG teh kitten of reality is incomprehensible ”

I pried my eyes away from the sidebar however and looked at the posts simply by judging the posts by their titles, nothing seemed to change about my opinion; they were all wacky and lelz, stuff like “I’m a cyborg” and “Return to nature.” Yet, looking at the bodies of the posts, these people seem more like… less volatile schizos, yet schizos nonetheless. They had been found!

The closest thing I could come up for as a description of this sub is as if the had started a support group in the asylum for the less violent inmates who do finger painting and shit, and then told them to create some kind of general life philosophy, which they tackle with much enthusiasm but little to no coherent ideology or cooperation. It’s like if Jordan Peterson was a bipolar foid.

You know, posts like this and this. Neither post has broken the 20 comment threshold yet however, and like s reacting to , the more comments the better. Schizos love to both circlejerk and try to inject their wild on-the-spot theories into any discussion with enough like-minded people. It's like their breeding grounds or something, and I intend to exploit these nests to their fullest extent

In looking for more comment-rich posts, I stumbled upon this. Not too rich with comments, so slim pickings here but a few did stand out:

Honestly, the drama was fun but by this point I'm starting to think the sub is more for people who think they are schizos than actual schizos. I don't know how sadder an existence could be but go off kween I was ready to give up... but then, the schizofoid goldmine appeared.

A schizo for the eons

This is Afoolfortheeons, who has quickly shot up to number one on my schizo watchlist because of how shamelessly she talks about her real life online. First off, for all you s coming in to my thread to say

Besides, everything she does is foidbrained anyway so I think we're looking at a bona fide schizobiofoid. What are those things, you ask? Well my fellow dramatard, ask and you shall receive.

The aspiring novelist

The schizobiofoid in question has a pinned post on her profile--but not just a post! A BOOK. Well, the first ten chapters of a book, anyways. And by god is it the most insufferable book I have ever pretended to skim. I know I should be more comprehensive with my research but it's late Besides, the first paragraph actually makes me want to rip my hair out:

The bus went up outta Florida, leaving Miami behind as a distant memory. I still don't know if I miss it or if I'm suffering from some sadistic style of subtle Stockholm Syndrome. Ooh, alliteration right outta the gate! That's a sign this is going to be a good story. But, if we can just pretend I didn't just break the fourth wall in the third sentence of this book, I would say that I switched buses a number of times as I traversed the lower half of the east coast. It was a hassle being beholden to Greyhound's schedule, but having traveled this far down the line, it all feels like one long ride between worlds that can't compare to each other in the slightest.

The book in question, which appears to be a masturbatory autobiography, is titled: Of Vic and Vince: A Story About Love, the CIA, and Schizoaffective Shenanigans. Honestly, if I saw that at my local bookstore my eyes would either glaze over or pop out of my skull but even if I did take a whimsical interest I would burn the book as soon as she began talking about fricking Reddit of all things.

...it confirmed that my friend Vince was real, which in hindsight was a silly thing to worry about, as I had met him once before at the first Shrug Life Syndicate gathering.

IRL REDDIT MEETUP

My brain might be a runaway train at times, but over the years I've learned to embrace the Shrug Life. That's a bit of philosophy our gaggle of weirdos on Reddit adheres to. When life gives you lemons, just roll your shoulders and accept what is.

Part of me wants to offer a 500DC bounty for writing a synopsis of the book with highlights but the other part of me wants to read it myself and offer it to you fine people for free Besides, I want to keep my DC although if one of you beats me to it I suppose I might have to...

But if you think that ten chapters is all this lady has to offer then boy howdy are you wrong! Her final draft has been written!!
