When you knock out mice with isoflurane (for injections) that's how they stumble around for a while before passing out.

The way he immediately checks all four corners of the box after you set him down is one of the ways you can tell he's healthy though. Mice will immediately check out all the walls and corners of an area you put them into unless they're sick or injured.
