Why don't more people wear diapers?

If you think about it, diapers are the most practical and functional type of underwear because you can pee yourself and nobody will know. When you pee yourself while wearing regular underwear or no underwear then you make a wet spot and a puddle on the floor.

My question is, as they are by far the most practical and functional type of underwear, then why don't more people wear diapers?

I think diapers are badass and old people wear diapers because diapers are a sign of rebellion and a sign that you just don't give a shit about going to the bathroom and they have just stopped giving a shit because they have better things to do and there is nothing more badass than peeing yourself and not caring.

I don't know why but I will give you a serious answer. Prolonged skin exposure to urine and feces is not healthy. When my dog was very old I had to deal with some urine scalding even though I was frequently replacing the towels he slept on. If someone is wearing diapers for convenience, rather than incontinence, then good health would dictate swapping out the diaper as soon as it is soiled and washing up. Why go through all that time and effort while still risking a rash when you can just use a potty?

They are wearing diapers because of incontinence. Muscle control weakens as you get older.

Also because they get too old to give a shit about social norms.
