the mindset of the ignorant defeatist. It absolutely matters how european folktales are represented in popular media. Fairy tales are a part of how white people in the 21st century interact with European folklore. By separating white people from the stories, disney is deliberately separating whites from that part of their cultural identity, and severing their connection with that part of their european heritage.
