This is a consistent and real thing in the UK. The police will never even respond if you call them to burglaries, assault, theft, violence etc. They're shit-scared of violent immigrants and muslims and the entire police force is mostly women and manlets who don't want to leave their desks.
To keep the numbers up, they've resorted to "crimes" that don't risk them any harm, which is arresting people for twitter posts and locking people up for defending themselves from the violent crime that the police won't help them with.
