I never looked into election rigging theories because I honestly don't really care but the idea that an election where all the soft power surrounding it is controlled by the same class of people who graduated from the same schools is free and fair is fricking ridiculous. Thing is, there's a good argument for this - people aren't gonna vote for higher interest rates, higher mortgage repayments etc. So you'd get 90% yearly inflation like Turkey.
This alone should tell you that pure democracy is risible and unworkable.
