Anyone got any good stories of when they went to a restaurant and didn’t tip?

All mine are kinda lame because it was just usually bad service or I had to ask for drinks because my waiter was taking too long. Weirdly enough when I tell people that they seethe and say something along the lines that “just because you had to get your own drinks doesn’t mean you shouldn’t tip them, maybe they were busy”.

Are people like that with you? Do they tell you to tip even if service is bad?

Not really but I shudder when I see people leave a tip at a counter serve place with the card reader that prompts you. Feels like they're being taken advantage of.

Who tips anywhere where they have to get their own drinks?

I actually have never been somewhere where the service was so atrocious that I completely stuffed the wait staff. I have had some really c*nty waiters that have come close.

The waiter was taking too long so I went and requested a refill from the bar. I feel if I’m doing half your job the tip hits 0.

I once went to a place were my waiter just disappeared, like I think she quit while waiting on us so I had to get the bill from the host and didn’t tip.

I tip even if it's bad service. If it's great service I'll give 20-25%. This goes for barbers, waitresses, dog groomers, bartenders, and your mom.
