This whole supply chain thing is affecting everything it seems. Even the styrofoam industry.

I don't know anything about the styrofoam production, but what in the frick could the supply chain problem be with donut ingredients?

The "supply chain" crisis is also largely a labor crisis. No truck drivers means no ingredient delivery. The groceries can't stock stuff either.

It's simple : no styrofoam no Dunkin donuts.

Wouldn't that affect their coffee cups more than doughnuts? These can be transported in fricking paper/cardboard easily...

Don't you need oil to make Styrofoam? Is there a material science-cel among us to clarify?

Styrofoam is a brand name for extruded polystyrene and is made from oil, although I think there is technically non-oil sources of styrene. You distill the oil and one of the fractions should be styrene which then gets polymerized into polystyrene. Then it gets heated up and extruded to make styrofoam.

Non-material sciencel, but I have learned a bit about plastics.

Fun fact about Styrofoam:

Meal worms will eat down Styrofoam if you trap them with it.

There's been massive chip shortages for over a year now. So much stuff being canceled, delayed, entire car factories shut down just because they can't get the microprocessors.

Oh I know all about the auto industry shortage trust me. Plus idk if you all have been to the grocery lately because a ton of stuff is out of stock.

On the car I ordered they aren’t putting adjustable lumbar support or inflating side bolsters in the front passenger seat - which sucks because I like to have thin bitches be well supported laterally while I drive or else they b-word about being β€œreckless”.

Apparently all of the other tech stuff is a go though which is cool. I think I lucked out by ordering an ugly car that nobody wants.

I was gonna buy a new car this year and that never happened. I've been trying to buy an Xbox for a year now and haven't been able to. I just want to consoom :(

Both next-gen consoles use RDNA2 chips from AMD, which are manufactured by TSMC. They already said that shortages will continue throughout 2022, which is when the new fabs that are currently being built are up and running at optimal capacity. The fab being built in Arizona won't be up until 2024 I believe. NVIDIA's CEO said the same thing about their products, even though they use a different foundry for the consoomer segment (Samsung).

Where the frick do you live?

Early (like end of Q1/beginning of Q2) this year I was already able to find second hand Xbox Series X for below MSRP. Series S was even being bundled with TV's and you could pick them up for sub 250.

Series S is now readily available and Series X you gotta preorder but it drops pretty regularly.

I use an app that notifies me when Series Xs are in stock and I still can't get one. I always get errors trying to add it to cart or buy it and eventually it's out of stock.

Are you like an African or South American? I just find it weird you cannot find it for a year even with notifications.

No in the US. Just unlucky I guess.
