The 80's. No contest. I was overseas in Europe at an International School and everyone was full of optimism. You just got to enjoy life without everyone telling you that you needed to be pissed off about everything. A magical decade. Except for the gays. They got AIDS and died and that was very bad for them. But I'm a straight chick, so that decade was fantastic for me.

And the truth is; She went to an International School and her diverse student body liked her so much they voted for her to give the commencement address. THEN, some families in the school gave an after party at a Chateau after graduation and only invited SOME students to it and she said: "I won't be there if the whole class is not welcome. I'll have a party at my house for the people who are not." And suddenly, the tradition of only inviting SOME of the graduates to the party after the graduation became a tradition to invite ALL of the students to the party.
