Olay but unironically imagine how cool would the story be if it turned out the b-word was really a serial killer? Like at that point this is some Hollywood blockbuster shit only they won't make it for 50 years because can't show a woman in a bad light anymore.
Best response on that topic was from a colleague on this very web forum who postulated that an old bear (who'd lost its teeth from age) strangled Gabby by effectively trying to bite her on the neck - which they're known to do. The coroner didn't catch on as there were no visible teeth marks. I think this scenario is highly plausable.
