Anglos specifically colonised in a very different fashion from how colonisation worked in much of the rest of the world though. The Romans didn't set up Latin exclusive societies in Britain and slowly demographicallg overwhelm the Britons with a more efficient economic system for example they inducted the Britons into their economic system albeit as it's lowest tier. The Anglos wanted the land, not tribute.
