Trump was trying to do a procedural coup that permitted the VP to choose alternate elector slates to the state electoral systems' results - this is all documented.
Imagine if Trump wins Texas in 2024 and the Texas Democrats appoint 40 people to be electors, sends them to Congress and VP Harris declares them the legit electors from Texas, resolving the "dispute" - how legitimate is that move? How would you feel?
That is exactly what Trump 100% tried to do.
