I know we have enough ruralcels and rightoids here to recommend me a new foldy knife

I lost my EDC PX foldy knife from back when OIF was still all the rage.

I need a new one, I'm not autismo enough to know about knives or knife companies so I come to you ruralcels and rightoids. I also don't trust /k/ommandos nor redditors on knives.

Only criteria for it is that it is foldy and not spring loaded because commiecuckcel.

Budget max is $200 now because I guess knife inflation.

Knives have shot up in price recently unfortunately. Under $150 would get you a Benchmade Bugout just barely, which is a very good knife but if you don't want to break the bank there are better options. I think the Spyderco Tenacious is around $50 now? All Spyderco knives look the same and just vary with blade material and the Tenacious is a fantastic knife. It was like $20 cheaper in the past but imo $50 is still a decent price. At that price point you're not going to find much better.

Oh, guess I'll bump up my budget to $200 then if they've shot up in price then.

Are Spydercos not a meme knife? I've never actually met anyone who wasn't an airsofter or a massive POG boot who owned a spyderco.

No, spyderco is definitely NOT a "meme" company. They produce some of the best production knives in the world and have for 40 years. Not all of them are great, they do collaborations with designers that are sometimes cheaper and they make some budget lines, but their expensive stuff is top of the line.

If you don't mind spending money on quality the Bugout really is a fantastic EDC knife. It's a lot of money but Benchmade knives are well made in general and they have great customer service.

And yeah Spyderco is legit if you don't mind their style. The Tenacious is on the low end of their price point because it's made in China but it's infinitely better than most other knives that come out of China. As you go up in price with them you get better blade steel and at some point they're made in the US as well.
